Roles and rights system

Overview​

TimePunch has a distinctive roles and rights system. Through the combination of employee roles, group rights and project rights, all desired all desired combinations can be implemented.

Employee roles​

  • Role Employee*in : Employees with the role "Employee*in" are only allowed to record working hours via start/stop time recording.

Group rights in combination with employee roles​

A group/organizational unit in TimePunch is a team, department or branch.

  • You have group rights if you are assigned to the group/organizational unit as a group leader (e.g. team leader, department leader or branch leader).
  • You also have group authorization if you are assigned as an assistant in the group/organizational unit.

This results in the following combinations:

  • Group Lead with the role Employee : The working hours of the group members may be viewed, but not changed.
  • Group management with the role Staff member in position of trust: The working times of the group members may only be viewed, the own working times may be may be adjusted and changed.
  • Group management with the role Project management : The working hours of the group members may be viewed and changed. Projects can also be be evaluated and administered, provided that there is also a project management.

Project rights in combination with employee roles​

A project is a work order that can be assigned to a team and project management.
